Bridge dedication honors Bridges’ service
Quitman Lake Fork Kiwanis Club members celebrated their 28th anniversary by braving some mud on Wednesday, March 27 as they gathered at the future site of Quitman’s Dog Park to dedicate a bridge on the walking path to original club charter member RT Bridges.

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert
Come on over to Mineola’s beautiful Historic Select Theater and hear the Lake Country Symphonic Band’s Christmasy “Everything Christmas” concert.

Caring & Sharing marks 40th year of assisting
In October 1983, 20 concerned citizens met for the organizational meeting of a program they christened “Caring & Sharing: Mineolans for Mineola.” The plan was to coordinate efforts of all the programs already at work in the community. The monetary goal was $9,200 or roughly $30 to feed and clothe a child for Christmas.
