BASKETBALL CAMP BEGINS JULY 25 AT HOLLY BROOK BAPTIST A coed basketball camp that has become a summer custom at Holly Brook Baptist Church will begin July 25 and continue through July 28. For students ages 7 through 12, the camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon. Space is limited, and adult helpers are needed. Cost is $10 per student. more

The Alba Public Library Summer Reading Program begins Thursday and will take place every Thursday in July beginning at 1 p.m. Children ages 4-12 are invited to attend and must read age or grade-level books. The program will also include different activities each week. more
The Carter BloodCare center is urging citizens to make blood donation a priority this summer. According to the center, blood collections are usually low during the months of June, July and August. Many routine donors are on vacation, caring for children or on a different schedule from the rest of the year. more
