Yellowjackets steamroll White Oak

After an uninspiring first quarter, the Mineola Yellowjackets righted the ship and dominated the visiting White Oak Roughnecks, 44-7. The victory was expected as the Roughnecks came into the game winless in three district games, while Mineola was coming off a season-defining win against Gladewater. more

Quitman knocks off Mineola, 3-0

The Quitman Lady Bulldogs dispatched the Mineola Lady Jackets in a three game sweep in Quitman last Tuesday.

The match should have been one of best of the year, but rather it was marred by many unforced errors on both sides.

In the end, the Lady Bulldogs brought more of their game to the court and stymied the Lady Jackets all night.   more

Mineola returns from bye for battle with Bears

The very first comments from Mineola Athletic Director Luke Blackwell when sitting down during a football bye-week interview were about the state eighth-ranked girls cross-country team. “They have simply worked very hard, and continuously, to get where they are today,” he stated. First responders honored, thanked

The Mineola Police Department received a gesture of thanks last Thursday morning as the Yellowjacket varsity football team prepared breakfast at the station for members of the force. The team used the meal as a symbolic moment to recognize our local first responders. more

Jackets swarm Big Sandy

The Mineola Yellowjackets defeated the Big Sandy Wildcats, 36-9, to wrap up the predistrict season Friday. The Yellowjackets dominated the game giving up a mere 117 yards on the night, while amassing 378 yards from scrimmage.  more

Three area schools host their gridiron district openers Friday. Harmony travels to Alba-Golden, Mineola faces off against West Rusk and Arp comes to Quitman. Local football fans are warned not to put too much credence into the early predistrict results, as a true second season will begin with Friday’s kickoffs. more
