The Alba-Golden school board of trustees will meet Monday, Feb. 24, at 5:30 p.m. to interview and vote to hire an interim school superintendent. As of Monday, there were three candidates.

Superintendent Dwayne Ellis resigned and accepted a retirement agreement effective Feb. 24, almost 18 months before his contract ends June 30, 2021.

At the Feb. 17 school board meeting, trustees approved one-year contract extensions of business manager Brenda Kelley, high school principal Michael Mize, junior high principal Brandon Bohannon and elementary school principal Kevin Wright.

The board also approved changing athletic director Drew Webster from a probationary contract to a two-year contract.

The resignations of Coach Eric Boettcher and Dr. Tom Ferguson were accepted.

Technology director Michael Scott gained board approval to begin exploring options to purchase a generator to keep the server room and cafeteria freezers running in a power outage.

The expected cost is $80,000-$100,000.
