A-G downs Rains, falls to Grand Saline
Alba-Golden kept their playoff hopes alive going into the final match of the year against Rains. The Lady Panthers defeated Lone Oak 23-25, 25-21, 14-25, 26-24, 15-9 in a five game thriller last Tuesday.
Team Captain Ginny Carson led the way with 20 kills, three blocks, and 22 digs. Macie Pendergrass had six kills and two blocks; Madi Byrant four kills and 10 digs; Kalli Wright four kills, two blocks, two aces, four digs; and Bralee Littlejohn 21 assists.
The Lady Panthers fell to Grand Saline 20-25, 22-25, 17-25 Friday. The Lady Panthers are currently in fourth place behind Edgewood, Quitman and Grand Saline in District 12-3A. Alba-Golden is 5-6 in district action. They will face the champion of District 11-3A next week in bi-district.
