A-G girls claim consolation at Princeton event

The Alba-Golden Lady Panthers won consolation in the Princeton Tournament this weekend and one of their players was named All Tournament.

The Lady Panthers started off slow Friday but picked it up gradually. Saturday morning in bracket play they lost to Farmersville in two sets.

“We finally found our grove in our next match and we beat Denton Calvary in two sets,” Coach TaShara Everett said. They faced Pilot Point in the consolation game and beat them in two sets.

“The girls really improved by the end of the tournament,” said Coach Everett.  “There are still some areas we are weak in but we will work to improve those areas of weakness.”

Ginny Carson was All Tournament, leading the team in kills, blocks, digs, and aces.

Everett said the Lady Panthers also solid play by seniors Kenzie Chadwick, Aspen Howard, Hannah Ellis and Lindsey Roberts.

“I’m looking forward to a great season,” Everett said.
