A-G Lady Panthers roll past Como-Pickton
Alba-Golden hosted Como-Pickton last Tuesday, winning 25-18, 25-14, 25-14 over the Lady Eagles.
The Lady Panthers opened with eight straight points on Erin Langston’s serve.
Solid Alba-Golden defense, including a couple digs by Kamrin Wright and a block by Kalli Trimble, set the tone early.
After trailing by 11 points, Como-Pickton closed the gap to 18-14 but could not catch the Lady Panthers.
The second set also started swiftly, with a 6-2 lead. A long point to go up 8-4 gave Alba-Golden the energy to start pulling away.
Langston’s awareness, touch and timing wreaked havoc on Como-Pickton, highlighted by nice tips at net to score.
Kacie Lennon had three kills in the set and Trimble contributed two winners in addition to strong serving early.
A closer competition broke out briefly in the third set. The Lady Panthers held a 13-12 lead when they decided to secure the match, claiming 10 of the next 11 points, four each on the serves of Trimble and Skyler West.
Alba-Golden has a break until Oct. 12, when they visit Cumby.
