Dallas man dies in Van Zandt County crash
On September 3at approximately 11 a.m., troopers responded to a one-vehicle fatal crash on IH-20 in Van Zandt County approximately 5 miles south of the city of Wills Point. Preliminary crash investigation revealed that a 2004 Ford Explorer was traveling eastbound on IH-20 in the left lane. The driver of the vehicle drove into the right lane and then off the south side of the roadway. The driver then overcorrected to the left and overturned the vehicle. The vehicle came to rest on its roof, partially on the roadway facing north.
The driver, and sole occupant, was identified as Lester Wills, 57 years-old of Dallas. Willis was pronounced dead by Judge Ronnie Daniell, his body taken to the Dallas County M.E. office.
