Ada Miller, 1921-2019

A memorial service for Ada Miller, 97, of Quitman, is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30 at Lowe Funeral Home with Gary Murrey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.

She passed away Friday, March 22, 2019, in Tyler.

Ada Hunley Miller was born in Lanely, Texas, on Sept. 16, 1921, to the late Collin Adams and Essie Lee Hunley. On Aug. 21, 1941, in Dallas, she married the love of her life, Frank Henry Miller. The couple was married 69 years at the time of Frank’s passing in 2010. Ada lived in the Quitman area since 1981 and was the owner of Ada’s Fried Chicken for 15 years. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and loved to read in her spare time.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Collin Adams and Essie Lee Hunley; husband, Frank Henry Miller; and two brothers, Collin A. Hunley and Raymond Hunley.

Left to cherish her memory are her three sons, Henry Miller of Quitman, Alan Miller of Forney, and Philip Miller of Quitman; two daughters, Katherine Miller of Quitman and Linda Coston of Quitman; one sister, Helen Louise Gipson of Lewisville; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
