Honey Bee Lovers Unite!

- Are you concerned about the plight of the honey bee?
- Have you ever thought about becoming a beekeeper?
- Are you already a beekeeper who would like the social and educational support of other beekeepers?
The group's objectives will be to:
- Encourage and promote beekeeping
- Serve as a resource for local beekeepers
- Educate the community about the honey bees and beekeeping
- Provide a platform for an exchange of ideas and knowledge among beekeepers
One out of every three bites of food we eat comes from plants that are pollinated by honey bees. Alarmingly, honey bee numbers have been dramatically declining over the past 30 years. Numerous studies have failed to pinpoint one particular cause for this problem but pesticide use, mites and a loss of nectar sources all seem to play a part.
How can you help?
- Stop using harmful pesticides
- Plant nectar producing plants in your yards
- Support your local beekeepers by buying locally produced honey
- Consider becoming a beekeeper yourself
Join us and learn more about honey bees and how you can support them.
