Alba-Golden names superintendent finalist
The Alba-Golden School Board voted secondary school Principal Macie Thompson (right) as the lone finalist to become the next superintendent Monday. All trustees were present with trustee Mike Ragsdale casting the only dissenting vote. Following the state-mandated 21-day waiting period, it is expected that Thompson will be officially named superintendent and take office upon the retirement of Superintendent Cole McClendon (left). Thompson has served as junior-senior high school principal for two years.
