The board held one interview each night this week, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
The lone finalist is expected to be named at the regular school board meeting Monday, June 8.
Following a state-mandated 21-day waiting period, the candidate then could be extended a contract at the end of June.
Former Superintendent Dwayne Ellis accepted an early retirement agreement on Feb. 24.
