Tri-County Pesticide Conference Oct. 7

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Offices in Wood, Rains and Van Zandt Counties will host the Tri-County Pesticide Conference Friday, Oct. 7. The event will be held at the Carroll Green Civic Center in Quitman.

The cost for the CEU portion of the course is $25 per individual. There will be five hours of CEU credits offered for those who already hold a pesticide license.

Agenda items include:

8 a.m. Registration

8:50- 9 a.m. Welcome – Clint Perkins, CEA-Ag/NR, Wood County

9-10 a.m. Aquatic Weed Control – Dr. Billy Higginbotham, Professor and Wildlife and Fisheries Specialist, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service-Overton

10-10:15 a.m. Break

10:15-11:15 a.m. Wild Pig Control- Dr. Billy Higginbotham, Professor and Wildlife and Fisheries Specialist, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service-Overton

11:15-12:15 p.m. Recordkeeping, What are the New Regulations? – Sara Allen, County Extension Agent, Hunt County

12:15- 1:15 p.m. Lunch

1:15-2:15 p.m. Weed Control and Land Preparation for Grass Establishment – Tommy Phillips, County Extension Agent, Van Zandt County

2:15-3:15 p.m. How to find Pesticide Labels using Online Resources – Stephen Gowin, County Extension Agent, Rains County

Participates can RSVP to the Wood County Extension office at 903-763-2924 by Friday to guarantee a lunch.
