The Quitman Pilot Club’s Chili Cook-Off will be at 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 26 at the Carroll Green Civic Center in Quitman.

The entry fee for cooks is $25, however there are also several sponsorship opportunities. For the entry and sponsorship forms, visit the Quitman Pilot Club Facebook page or email Quitmanpilotclub@peoplescom.net.

Tickets to attend the fundraiser are $10 each for those 13 and older and $5 for those age 12 and under. They will be available by calling the Quitman Chamber of Commerce 903-763-4411 or the Quitman Development Corporation 903-268-9054.

All funds raised at the event will support the non-profit and all-volunteer Quitman Pilot Club, and the stated mission of providing education for the prevention of traumatic brain injury, and offering services to those suffering from brain-related disorders, such as Alzheimer’s, stroke, and autism. bicycle safety, project lifesaver and Special Olympics are just a few of those efforts provided by the club for the community members.

“The cook-off is one of the most fun and best attended winter events in Wood County. It’s a great time, but more importantly, this event generates a large portion of the funds needed for the programs we support. We hope to see all of our old friends there, and offer grateful thanks to all of our sponsors, as well as participants!” Chairwoman Paige Eaton said in an email last week.
