TJC honors Dr. Jim Richey for excellence in teaching
Dr. Jim Richey, chairman of the English Department at Tyler Junior College, recently received The Mattie Alice Scroggin Baker Excellence in Teaching Award.
This teaching award was established in 1987 from the estate of Mattie Alice Scroggin Baker to recognize the contributions full-time professors provide to student learning.
Richey, his wife Toni, and two children, Fate and Jamey, have lived in Lindale since 2004. He is the son of Dr. Doug and Kathy Richey who are Quitman residents and graduates from Quitman School District.
