Auditions set for “Arsenic and Old Lace”

The classic play of murder and comedy, Arsenic and Old Lace, will be produced by Lake Country Playhouse in Mineola this summer. Open auditions are set for Monday and Tuesday, April 24 and 25, at 7:00 PM at the Historic Select Theater, 114 N. Johnson Street, in Mineola. The show will be directed by Terri Dievendorf, Theatre Arts instructor at Mineola High School.

Roles are available for two women, ages 50 and older, and 11 men, starting in the 20s and older.

Written by American playwright Joseph Kesselring in 1939, the play originally ran for a total of 1,444 performances between 1941 and 1944. It went on to greater fame as a film directed by Frank Capra, and starring Cary Grant.
