Barbara Louise (Holloway) Pool, 1931-2020

Barbara Louise (Holloway) Pool, 89, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2020 at Brookdale Georgetown where she had resided for seven years and whose caring staff made her part of their family. Both residents and staff will miss her dearly.

She was born Feb. 13, 1931 in Corsicana to Reuben Harley Holloway and Eva Ada (Coffin) Holloway.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 15 years, Julian Loyd Pool of Mineola. Barbara, the last of the Holloway children, will be welcomed home by her brother, Averill Harley Holloway, 92, of Orion, Ill., and sisters, Eva Muriel Buzan, 101, and Doris Pauline Allen, 87, of Victoria.

She is survived by nine nieces and nephews and their children, who she loved as if they were her own and who love and will miss their very special Aunt Bobbie.

Barbara worked in the accounting department of Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. from the time she graduated from Crozier Technical High School, Dallas in 1949. She retired from AT&T in 1987.

Barbara was active in the Baptist church throughout her life, the last being First Baptist Church in Mineola.

A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Austin Memorial Park in Austin.
