Sgt. Chris Turner was dispatched to CR 2298 for a report of criminal mischief. The complainant stated that her house was broken into for the second time in several days. Although nothing was taken from inside, two bathroom mirrors were shattered causing $200 in damages. Information was recorded about possible suspects and the case was forwarded to an investigator.

Sgt. Chris Turner took a report of theft of an air compressor from a complainant who resides on FM 312. According to the man, he used the compressor the previous day but when he went to retrieve it from the lean-to shed, found it was missing. Information was obtained regarding a work crew which had been on his property prior to the compressor's disappearance. This case was passed on to CID.

Sgt. Chris Turner took a report of theft of a firearm from a man who resides on CR 4798. According to the man, he is currently renting an apartment but his landlord is in the process of attempting to sell the apartment so the door must remain unlocked to allow the place to be shown. The man further stated he had discovered a Remington Express 12 gauge shotgun, last seen leaning in the corner of his room, was missing. Turner recorded the serial number of the gun and the case was assigned to an investigator.

Deputy Tony Ingram and Sgt. Chris Turner were dispatched to an address inside Holiday Villages for an assault call. The deputies met with two men who stated they had gone to speak with a man who had a complaint about his lot. They further stated the man had pulled a tire iron out of his truck and threatened them with it and later pulled out a rifle and threatened to shoot them. The men were eventually able to retreat to their vehicle and leave the property. Speaking with the man who was accused of pulling the gun, the deputies were repeatedly told by the suspect that he did not have any guns. The man readily consented to have his vehicle and trailer checked for the presence of guns. Inside the residence, deputies found a rifle partially concealed under bedding. William Johnnie Johnson, 67, of Quitman was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was transported to jail without incident.

Deputy Terri Altman was dispatched to the Wood County Airport for a possible burglary. Altman met with the complainant who is the caretaker and was informed that a Garmin GNS 530W, valued at $15,000, was missing from a Cessna airplane which was at the airport for repairs. This case was forwarded and remains under investigation,

Deputy Dustin Moffett took a theft report from two EMS employees who stated they were dispatched to a medical call at Jarvis College and accidentally left a red medical bag on a sidewalk in front of one of the buildings. When they returned to retrieve it, they discovered it had been moved and had been rummaged through. Almost $800 worth of equipment was missing from the bag. This case is now in the hands of an investigator.

Deputies Donivan South, Kevin Atkinson and Dustin Moffett were dispatched to an address at CR 2267 and CR 2268 in response to a 911 call reporting a disturbance in progress. While en route, the deputies were notified of a second 911 call from the address where a man claimed he was hit with a pipe and his attacker also had a machete. Upon arrival, a man waiting outside the residence stated he was jumped by several individuals inside the residence. The man smelled of alcohol and was rambling, claiming to be God and stating no one could touch him. During the course of his questioning, the man became increasingly belligerent and was placed in a patrol vehicle for safety reasons. Questioning others at the location, the deputies learned that the man arrived at the party already intoxicated and was asked to leave after unzipping his pants in an attempt to show his genitals. The man originally left when asked to but later returned banging on the door and threatening harm to those inside at which time he was escorted off the property and a call was placed to 911. Eric Anthony Kolbo, 24, Alba, was placed into custody for Class C liquor violation and was transported to jail. During transport, Mr. Kolbo was placed in leg restraints after he attempted to kick out the window of the patrol truck.

Michael Dee Williams, 37, of Mineola was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest following a 911 call from a residence on FM 779 stating Williams was intoxicated and waving a gun around and threatening to shoot himself. Deputy Dustin Moffett and Sgt. Sam Threadgill, along with a DPS trooper, responded to the scene. Williams was taken into custody following a brief scuffle and transported to jail without further incident.

Deputy Tony Ingram was dispatched to a residence on CR 4583 for a criminal mischief report. The complainant stated her daughter was off her medication and was tearing up the house. Ingram noted a coffee table with a broken glass top and damaged French doors. According to the woman, she wished to pursue criminal charges against her daughter. Statements made by the suspect to Deputy Ingram led to her being transported to ETMC for evaluation. Once she was medically cleared, Christina Dyane Mitchell, 29, of Winnsboro, was transported to jail. She is charged with criminal mischief gt;$1,500 lt;$20,000.

Deputy Aaron Warren was dispatched to check the welfare of the occupant of a car parked on the side of the road. The reporting party stated a man inside the vehicle was possibly asleep or in need of medical attention. Warren arrived to find a male subject asleep inside the car. A routine check through dispatch revealed the man had an outstanding parole warrant. James David Shaddock, 46, of Hawkins was arrested on the warrant and transported to jail. During the booking process, Shaddock was found to be in possession of a small baggy of white powder which tested positive for methamphetamine. Shaddock now faces an added charge of possession of a controlled substance, penalty group one gt; one gram lt; four grams.

Deputies Brad Cates and Austin Cryer served a felony warrant at an address on CR 3229. Darren Lee Cox, 46, of Quitman was arrested following a brief scuffle which began when he picked up a small revolver which was hidden behind a door. He was relieved of the weapon and transported to jail and booked on the out of county warrant.

Deputy Brad Cates was dispatched to CR 1306 in reference to a disturbance. Cates arrived to find a white female who was screaming obscenities in the front yard of the residence. The woman was warned to stop screaming as she was disturbing the neighbors. Cates then spoke with the complainant who stated she and the woman had gotten into an argument and it had remained verbal. During the interview with the complainant, the woman outside continued to scream obscenities, despite Cates' earlier warning. Candice Caylin Smith, 29, of Quitman was arrested for disorderly conduct and was transported to jail without further incident.

Sgt. Josh O'Grady, with assistance from Taylor County Sheriff's Office was able to locate a firearm that was stolen in 2012. The gun was taken from the inside of the victim's residence in the Quitman area. The owner was contacted and advised that the gun had been recovered and would be returned to him as soon as possible. Leads are being followed in an attempt to locate the person responsible for the theft.

Sgt. O'Grady, with the help of Sulphur Springs Police Department, was able to locate a chainsaw that was stolen earlier this year in the Yantis area. There are suspects in the case and the investigation is ongoing.

Sgt. Jacob Richardson obtained an arrest warrant for a resident of the Lake Hawkins area of Wood County stemming from an investigation into the trespassing and fire damage to multiple lots in the area.

Sgt. Carolyn Tanner observed eight interviews at the Child Advocacy Center and is currently working two aggravated sexual assault cases. Tanner is also working a child abuse case involving a 4-month old with a broken femur.

Sgt. Kyle Henson obtained a warrant for Joshua Tutor, 20 of Yantis for aggravated sexual assault of a child. Mr. Tutor was taken into custody but has since been released from jail. Henson is also working two separate investigations concerning possible child abuse. Both cases involve infants with fractures.

Sgt. Kyle Henson also testified in the trial of William Pugh for two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child. Mr. Pugh was found guilty and received two life sentences.
