Beatrice Hawkins, 1927-2019

Beatrice Hawkins, 92, of Quitman, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019 in Quitman. She was born on June 1, 1927 in Smith County to the late Angris Tennyson and Evelyn Young Tennyson.

Mrs. Hawkins was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Hawkins; sons, Alvin Louis Duncan and George Willy Duncan; and daughters, Linda Joyce Duncan and Helen Duncan.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Wilma James, William Earl Duncan, Carolyn Duncan, Alvin Dewayne Duncan, Tonya Duncan and George Duncan Jr. along with numerous great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019 from noon to 1 p.m. at Beaty Funeral Home 5320 S. State Hwy. 37 Mineola. Services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019 at Beaty Funeral Home at 1 p.m.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
