Beckville sweeps Lady Bulldogs
The Quitman Lady Bulldogs ran into one of the state’s elite volleyball programs on the road at Beckville Friday. Beckville took the match in three sets by scores of 15-25, 12-25, 11-25.
“Beckville was simply a great team and we did not play our best game against them,” Head Coach Ashlee Lingo said.
Sophomore middle blocker Ava Burroughs had five kills, a dig, one ace, one block and one assist. Senior Shelby Hayes continued her consistent play with 11 assists and three digs and Jentri Jackson added 10 digs. Junior Lucy Brannon was solid with eight digs, four kills, one ace and one assist.
Quitman begins to wind down pre-season play. The Lady Bulldogs take on a tough Class 4A Lindale team on the road Friday with the varsity beginning at 4:30 p.m.
