The Lady Hawks fell to Grand Saline 49-33 after giving up 22 fourth quarter points to the Lady Indians Friday.
While the scoring was nearly neck and neck in the first half Grand Saline held a 20-15 advantage.
In the second half the Lady Indians ramped up their offense as they doubled their scoring output in the fourth quarter effectively pulling away from Hawkins to win by 18.
Emily Hodges led Hawkins’s offense, scoring nine points, with five points during the fourth period. She also contributed two rebounds and one steal.
Also helping the effort for Hawkins were Jaycee Cheshire with eight points, a team high 10 rebounds and a steal, Raeli Smith had five points and five rebounds), Alyssa Eddington also had a solid game with five points and five rebounds.
