Billie Elizabeth Holcombe, 1935-2019

Billie Elizabeth Holcombe, 83, of Wheeler, passed from this life on Monday, Aug. 19, 2019, in Wheeler. 

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019 at the Wheeler Cemetery with Lori DeBose, officiating.

Visitation was held from 6-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Arrangements were by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.

Billie was born on Sept. 15, 1935, to Clyde Hannon Worley and Bessie Ernest Worley.  She had been a full-time resident of Wheeler since 2002, coming from Brownfield. While living in Brownfield she was a babysitter for many years. Throughout her life Billie enjoyed sewing and watching sports, gardening and canning the fruits of her labor, and Tops Club. She loved her nephews as deeply as if they were her own sons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and five sisters.

Survivors include her sister, Audrey Gould of Mineola, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers donations be sent to Alzheimer’s Association.
