Book launch, reading planned Friday in Quitman

Posted

There will be a book launch Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Speakeasy Coffeehouse in Quitman. The book contains three novellas about love, faith and triumph all taking place in Quitman, and the focus is on people and their interactions with the coffeehouse where many lives intersect.

The three pieces of literature are The Royal Glitch by Jean Pamplin, Courageous Hearts by Janet Ellington, and Something Almost Heavenly by Delia Latham. Each author has been inspired by the times they have spent at the Speakeasy.

In reality, the three authors actually do spend time in Quitman at the coffeehouse. The authors will be there Friday to sign the books and answer any questions the public may have concerning their writings.

The authors will also read passages from the book, and random prizes will be given away during the event. There will also be a drawing for a gift basket.

Those attending are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite 1920s attire for the evening. Desserts will be served and other food items will be available for purchase.
