Bulldogs fall to Rains
After a 7-7 first quarter deadlock the Rains Wildcats took over a defensive battle to defeat Quitman 51-31 in district play Friday night.
The Wildcats used a strong press to thwart and frustrate the Bulldogs, leading to a 24-15 score at the half. The Wildcats increased their lead to 38-21 after three quarters and coasted to the final 51-31 score.
Jace Reid led the Bulldogs with 17 points for the night and added six rebounds, five steals and took a charge. Trey Berry added five points for the Bulldogs with Luke Pruden hitting for four points and grabbing seven rebounds. Aiden Corrior had three points and four steals and Rylie Flanagan had two points and six rebounds.
The Bulldog season record is now 9-9 with their district slate at 1-2. They face host Mineola on Friday.
