Businesses have had to change as more restrictions are approved to stem the spread of the viral disease COVID-19.
Food establishments have been restricted to delivery or take-out service only.
In response, the Mineola Economic Development Corp. had signs made for take-out parking only for several downtown restaurants.
Chambers of commerce have worked to share businesses’ changes with the community.
Many businesses have adopted scaled back hours, with major retailers using the time to sanitize stores and restock bare shelves.
Some retailers have also shifted to delivery and online business models.
Banks have restricted access to their lobbies, with drive throughs remaining open.
Some electric utilities have suspended service shut offs temporarily.
