The Yantis-Lake Fork Lions Club will host their 22nd Annual Catfish Fry, Saturday, May 17, 2016, at the Yantis ISD Cafeteria.

The fun will start at 4:00p.m. until 7:00p.m. The menu includes fresh catfish, red beans, cold slaw, French fries, hushpuppies and desserts.

Members of the planning committee said they feel it is important to keep the event “donation only”. This would enable more people to attend the Fish Fry.

The club members will be selling chances during the event to win a Henry Golden Boy 22 LR, made in the USA. Tickets are $5.00 each or five for $20.00. Winner must be 18 years of age and pass FBI background check. The winner of the rifle will be announced at the fish fry later that evening.

Special guest performer Dale “The C” Cummings will entertain during the event. There will be a silent auction featuring an array of gifts and certificates.

The bulk of the proceeds will benefit the Lions Club scholarship fund, which will be awarded to graduating seniors at Yantis High School.

The Lions Club also helps fund other local charitable projects such as providing children in need with eye exams and eye glasses; Adopt-a-Highway; area volunteer fire departments and sponsors a community wide Thanksgiving Dinner. The club helps with the Texas Diabetes and Special Needs Camp and built a memorial to honor all American Veterans.

The club’s motto is “WE SERVE”. For more information regarding the fish fry or becoming a member of the Yantis- Lake Fork Lions Club, contact Lion Ilene Holcomb at 817-975- 1409.
