Candidates line up for place on primary ballot
Contested races have emerged in Wood County for district judge, district attorney and Prec. 3 constable in the March 3 Republican primary.
Filing deadline is Dec. 9.
For the two-year unexpired term of district attorney, appointee Angela Albers and Jodi Cox have filed.
For district judge, the incumbent Jeff Fletcher and Brad McCampbell have filed in a rematch from 2016.
For Prec. 3 constable incumbent Gary Dixon and John McQueen have filed
Incumbents to file include Sheriff Tom Castloo, Prec. 1 Constable Steve Bowser, Prec. 2 Constable Kelly Smith and Prec. 1 Commissioner Virgil Holland Jr.
At the state level representing Wood County, Cole Hefner has filed for a second term as state representative, and Kevin Ellis has filed for State Board of Education.
Other county offices to be on the ballot include tax assessor-collector, commissioner Prec. 3, constable Prec. 4 and the Republican and Democratic chairmen.
No Democrats had filed locally as of midday Tuesday.
