Mineola police reports for the past week were:

Oct. 26 - Police are investigating a shooting of a man on Chaparral Street. At 1:01 p.m. police received a report of a gunshot on the street with men yelling. Upon arrival, police reported finding no evidence of a disturbance and residents on the street said they didn’t hear anything. However, a couple of hours later a complainant went to the police department and reported that a man had been shot on Chaparral, near the Wren Street intersection. Upon investigation the police found evidence of a shooting, with one man shot in the leg who went to the emergency room for treatment around 9 p.m. The man was treated and released at East Texas Medical Center-Quitman with a gunshot to the thigh. Two men were arguing and one shot the other with a handgun.

The same day, police arrested Brandi Leigh Love, 30, and Deandra Eugene Williams, 18, both of Mineola after a traffic stop on Goodson at Phillips Street for an expired registration. Williams was a passenger in the vehicle Love was driving and was arrested for not wearing a seatbelt. Love was arrested for manufacture / delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) over one gram under four. She was also charged with tampering with evidence, manufacture / delivery of a controlled substance under 28 grams (prescription pills) and having an expired registration. Police reported that Love resisted arrest and attempted to swallow the evidence.

At 12:18 a.m. police responded to a loud noise complaint on Bromberg Street. Officers spoke with the tenants and told them to keep the noise down.

Oct. 25 – A hit-and-run was reported in the Northgate Plaza Shopping Center at 1:59 p.m. The matter is under investigation.

Oct. 24 – Officers checked on a suspicious person in a vacant and condemned house on Front Street. Two males were warned it was a condemned house and were warned about trespassing.

Oct. 23 – A disturbance was reported on North Line Street at 1:37 a.m. but officers found it was only an argument.

Police arrested Brandon LeeJording, 33, Palestine, for no driver’s license. LeeJording was stopped on West Broad Street for a defective license plate light.

Police arrested Myron Dekeith Bettles, 19, Dallas on a Tarrant County theft warrant. He was a passenger in a vehicle stopped on North Pacific Street for speeding.

Officers assisted the fire department and emergency medical services responders with a female who was choking on Molly Lane. She was transported to the hospital.

The fire department, EMS and officers were called to Bailey’s Ace Hardware when a male began to have seizures. He was transported to the hospital.

Oct. 22 – Officers were called to Q Nail Salon on the Northwest Loop on a report of two children being left in a car while the parent was getting their nails done. The two children were 10 and 12 years old and the parent could see them. Police noted no offense was committed.

Police arrested Mistie Michelle Hasten, 40, Mineola on a Wood County warrant for failure to appear. Hasten was seen on Kevin Street and was known to have an active warrant.

Oct. 21 – A hit-and-run was reported in the Dollar General parking lot. The woman was sitting in her car when the accident happened. The matter is under investigation.

An argument was reported on Stone Street between two men. The argument was over a civil matter.

Police arrested Zachary Dillan Ramirez, 27, Mineola for driving without a license and an expired registration. He was pulled over on North Newsom Street for the expired registration.

Officers assisted Smith County Deputies with locating a runaway who was in the Mineola area. The teenager was located and released to his mother.

Oct. 20 – Police arrested Vicki Sue Hanks, 46, Tyler at Walmart on a Kaufman County warrant. Officers were called to the store in reference to two women who were issued criminal trespass warnings in Lindale and management wanted them also issued warnings for the Mineola store.
