Car club collecting toys, food

Posted

The Lake Country Classics Car Club will attempt to fill the trunks with new, unwrapped toys to donate to the Rainbow Room benefiting children who are under the care of Child Protective Services in Wood County.

They will also be collecting food to donate to the Christmas Sharing project benefiting needy families in the area.

The drive will be held Nov. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the north side of the square at the Wood County courthouse. In case of rain that day, the event will be moved to Sunday, Nov. 22 from 2 to 5 p.m.

It is the hope of the car club that area civic groups, churches and other non-profits will join them to fill those trunks for the less fortunate. They encourage the public to come out, make a donation and enjoy looking at all the classic cars.
