Caring and Sharing volunteer meeting

First Baptist Church in Mineola will host the second volunteer meeting for Mineola Caring & Sharing Monday, Oct. 14 at 6 p.m., and each committee chair will update the group on progress for preparing for distribution day.

Letters have been mailed to the elderly within the MISD. If you were missed and need the extra help at Christmas, call Beverly Spike at 903-569-6206.

Another event starting in October is the Brookshire’s fundraiser. Volunteers are needed to sell tickets as Brookshires starting on Saturday, Oct. 26 and going through Dec. 7.

Tickets for $200 gift cards from Brookshires will start the last week of October and run through Dec. 4. Tickets are $1 each or $5 for six. Three lucky winners will receive a $200 gift card from Brookshires.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Come on over to Mineola’s beautiful Historic Select Theater and hear the Lake Country Symphonic Band’s Christmasy “Everything Christmas” concert.

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
