Carl Thomas Anderson, 1941-2020

Carl Thomas Anderson, 78, of Mineola passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020 in Mineola. He was born on July 25, 1941 in Mumford to the late Charles Bruce Anderson and Martha Ming Anderson. He was a retired journalist and teacher and a member of Broad Street Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles Bruce Anderson. 

Carl was a member of the Lions Club, an officer in the Texas Press Association and the Gulf Coast Press Association, a member of the Lake Jackson Symphony and the Lake Country Symphonic Band and was a licensed boat captain and airplane pilot. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lucy Anderson of Mineola; son, Charles Bryant Anderson and his wife Nina of Katy; daughter, Carla Lynn Gaynor and her husband Ken of Lindale; five grandchildren, Nicholas Charles Anderson, Lauren Elizabeth Calvert, Whitney Celeste Figueroa and her husband Eric, Johnathan Robert Gaynor and his wife, Kari, and Bruce Allen Gaynor; and great-grandchildren, Jackson Anderson, Elliott Calvert, Oliver Calvert, Blakely Calvert, Brandon Joseph Figueroa, Sara Elizabeth Figueroa, Abigail Figueroa and Clayton Gaynor.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Broad Street Church of Christ in Mineola at 11 a.m. with John Villarreal conducting.

Interment was at Staples Cemetery on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 1 p.m.
