Case count rises slowly, recoveries jump
Since Monday there have been only two new cases of COVID-19 reported for Wood County.
That brings the case total to 78. The two new cases are from Winnsboro and Hawkins.
The number of patients considered recovered has increased from 29 to 49, leaving 24 active cases.
No deaths have been reported in more than two weeks.
The number of tests has risen to 902.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has ordered bars to close at noon today (Friday) and restaurants to scale back to 50% occupancy as of Monday to help slow the spread, with cases rising statewide.
