Charlie Bowden 1945-2020

Charlie Bowden, 74, of Mineola, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020 in Tyler. He was born on April 20, 1945 in Mineola to the late Ralph Bowden and Emma Thomas Bowden.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Charles Ray Bowden.

He is survived by sons, William Buster of Las Vegas, Nev. and Chris McKinnsey of Carlsbad, N.M.; daughter, Connie Jean of Washington; and sisters, Tressie B. True of Katy, Trudy Hollingsworth of Payson, Ariz., Maxine Rhodes of Mineola and Nadine Salazse.

Visitation was held on Friday, Jan. 3, 2020 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Beaty Funeral Home, 5320 S. State Hwy. 37 Mineola. Graveside services was held on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 5396 S. State Hwy 37, Mineola at 2:30 pm, Rev. Fred Morrow and Rev. Jim Parker officiating.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
