The Mineola Historical Museum Board is kicking off 2021 with a fundraiser bringing a popular sandwich to Mineola.

On Thursday, Jan. 28 the board is offering Chick-fil-A sandwiches for sale as a fundraiser for the museum. All sack lunches must be prepaid, and the deadline to order is Thursday, Jan. 21 at noon.

The lunch will include the sandwich, cookie and chips for $8.50 and will be available for pickup at Mineola City Hall at 300 Greenville Highway from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Jan. 28.  Deliveries can be made to businesses inside the Mineola city limits.

Order forms can be obtained from Museum board members Novada Bigham, Sharon Chamblee, Pat Quattlebaum, Christine Creswell, Audrey Turman, Ellen Brooke or Elaine Tuck. Forms are also on the city of Mineola’s website at www.mineola.com. Those who would like to pay online can go to the Eventbrite link on the website. There is an additional charge for ordering and paying online.

Due to COVID, the museum board chose to hold this fundraiser in lieu of the baked potato fundraiser. The baked potato fundraiser will be considered at a future time. This is the second Chick-fil-A fundraiser the board has offered.

The Mineola Historical Museum is located at 114 N. Pacific St. in the old post office building. It is open Thursday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and exhibits a diverse representation of Mineola’s colorful history.
