Chloe Dene “Denie” Kelly 1930-2021

Services for Chloe Dene Kelly were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021 at Providence Church. Officiating was Rev. Sam Ray. Visitation was held an hour before the service at the church.

Chloe Dene (Denie) Kelly died on Dec. 10, 2021 in Tyler at age 91.

Denie was born Oct. 9, 1930 in her Papa Hammans’ house in Jamestown to Warren and Lela Mae Crone. She graduated from Van High School in 1949. She met her husband Burl at a young adult meeting at Maddox Avenue Baptist Church and they were married soon after on Aug. 20, 1949 and settled in Fort Worth to raise their five children. Eventually retiring in Mineola, they built a new home on her family’s home place. Denie worked as a housewife and in retail.

She is survived by her five children, Gloria Martin of Fort Worth, Belinda Fuller of Fort Worth, Daniel Kelly of Mineola, Nora Torres and her husband Robert of Fort Worth and Karen Frost of Fort Worth; eight grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

Mrs. Kelly was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Burl Kelly; parents; and three brothers, James Everett Crone, Charles Wayne Crone and Fred Leland Crone.
