Chris Woods, 1968-2020

Chris Woods, 51, of Quitman passed away on Monday, Feb. 10, 2020 in Tyler. James Christopher Woods was born in Tyler on May 17, 1968 to Roger Franklin and Linda Kathryn (Dopson) Woods. Chris grew up in Hawkins and has lived in Quitman for the last several years. He worked for Brookshire’s Grocery Company.

Chris was preceded in death by his mother. He is survived by his father, Roger Woods of Quitman; sister, Terri, and her husband Earnest Boyd of Hawkins; brother, Robert and his wife Marla Woods of Greenville; and nieces, Haley Boyd, Alli Boyd, Makayla Woods, and Emma Woods.

The family received friends on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel in Quitman. Funeral services were held on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020 at 2 p.m. in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at the Boyd Family Cemetery in Hawkins.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
