Church planning rededication

The sanctuary of First Christian Church that fronts Pacific St. one block north of downtown Mineola was dedicated May 20, 1951. Through two generous donations, one anonymous and the other by Tadd, Orine and Scott Choate, the sanctuary has been completely renovated, including new paint, carpet and pews. The church has been enjoying the restored, clean look of their worship center since Dec. 8.

The church will experience a rededication service of the sanctuary Sunday, Jan. 12 during regular worship service at 10:45. Many people worked hard to make this renovation a reality, none more than Dewey Choate who took the helm of organizing and planning the various stages of labor.

Everyone in the community is welcome to this special worship service and view the beautiful work God has done through His people.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Come on over to Mineola’s beautiful Historic Select Theater and hear the Lake Country Symphonic Band’s Christmasy “Everything Christmas” concert.

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
