Quitman JH, HS drop-offs to change after spring break
Quitman School District Superintendent Rhonda Turner announced a change in dropping students off which will be in effect after spring break.
“It is such an exciting time for QISD as we watch all of the construction progress; however, we are going to need your help as we enter the last phase of our improvements. When our students return from spring break the normal drop off and pick up area in front of the junior high and high school will not be available. There will be a fire lane, but it is to remain open at all times and is only to be used for an emergency,” Turner acknowledged.
“Students will be dropped off and picked up in the new parking lot. We will use the middle of the drive for a drop‐off and pick‐up lane. This is going to be a little congested and we are going to ask for your patience and your help.”
Staff will park on the south side of the parking lot and there will still be handicap and visitor parking available on the north side of the parking lot.
The district is asking that you do not park in visitor parking during the afternoon pick‐up time. There will be too many students crossing through the cars and a safe environment must be maintained.
