Cities to share resources should illness hit staffs
Four area cities are working on an agreement to share personnel should illness cause one, or more, to be short-handed at their water treatment plants.
The cities of Mineola, Quitman, Winnsboro, Mt. Vernon and the Cypress Springs Special Utility District are putting together an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement for public works mutual aid as needed as a result of loss of qualified labor force and resources due to current conditions.
The agreement, which is being reviewed by legal counsel, allows any of the entities to request help from the other participants to loan a person or share their resources as needed.
It allows the entities to cooperate but does not compel them.
