The Wood County Commissioners Court on Dec. 28 agreed to appoint Terri Sellars as Wood County’s auditor from Jan.1, 2019 to Dec. 31, 2020. Stephanie Tidwell was hired as assistant auditor effective Jan. 2.

Commissioners also discussed subscribing to a new data service for the county, which could replace the current Lexis Nexus service. Precinct 2 Constable Kelly Smith told commissioners that TransUnion’s TLOxp Online service would be beneficial to officers in the field regarding vehicle sightings, addresses, driver’s licenses and license plate reports.

TLOxp is a data system that gives subscribers rapid access to information about driving records, vehicle records. It is useful in verifying addresses, employment histories and other information about people. Commissioners tabled action as they wanted to look into the cost of using TLOxp Online for the entire county to possibly replace its Lexis Nexus data system.

In other action, the court:

•Approved an interlocal cooperative contract with Texas Department of Public Safety for access to the state reporting system.

•Approved a Lake Quitman lease agreement.

•Revised lot 49 and lot 50 at Holly Lake Ranch.

•Accepted the resignation of Janae Holland as the criminal investigation division clerk at the Wood County Sheriff’s Office. She was elected as Precinct Two Justice of the Peace

•Accepted the resignation of Connie Williams as administrative assistant/senior office administrator effective Dec. 31.

•Accepted the transfer of Kari Perkins from administrative assistant/court coordinator under the county judge to subdivision coordinator/commissioners court officer manager effective Jan. 1.

•Approved a line item transfer of $75,021.40

•Approved budget amendments of $200,851.48

•Approved payroll of $342,690.31

•Approved health and dental claims of $113,385.65

•Approved accounts payable claims of $233,395.20.
