Wood County commissioners rolled through their agenda in a quick 13-minute session Tuesday, Nov. 5.

A memorandum of understanding was approved between the Wood County Jail and Andrews Center for mental health assessments for 2019-20. Through the Health and Human Services Commission of Texas, mental health services are required in every county as well as mental health crisis response services if requested by a jail for inmates experiencing a mental health crisis.

A crisis situation is if an individual presents an immediate danger to self or others, an individual’s mental or physical health is at risk of serious deterioration or the individual believes he or she presents an immediate danger to self or others or that his or her mental or physical health is at risk of serious deterioration. Crisis services include a crisis screening, a crisis assessment and a recommendation about the level of care required to resolve the crisis situation.

Commissioners approved accepting donated items from the Northeast Texas Health Center which has moved into a new office that was furnished.

John Tomberline was approved to replace Bobby Baker on the Emergency Service District No. 1 board of directors.

Commissioners cast the county’s 1,442 votes for Connan Welch for a 2020-21 term on the Wood County Appraisal District board.

Commissioners approved a contract with AuctioneerExpress.com for selling surplus property.

Personnel moves included two changes in the Wood County Sheriff’s Office. Angela Jacobs was moved from dispatcher supervisor to dispatcher and Kari Robertson from dispatcher to dispatcher supervisor. The elections office hired Brenda Hunter and Terrell Aaronspeer for temporary help, and Taryn Hamilton resigned her part-time position in the county clerk’s office.
