Wood County Commissioners approved funds for local fire departments Dec. 31. Commissioners Russell Acker and Mike Simmons were absent from the 10-minute meeting.
Ten of the 12 Wood County fire department contracts were approved. Hainesville and Yantis departments are awaiting paperwork.

Commissioners OK fire department funds
Wood County Commissioners approved funds for local fire departments Dec. 31. Commissioners Russell Acker and Mike Simmons were absent from the 10-minute meeting.
Ten of the 12 Wood County fire department contracts were approved. Hainesville and Yantis departments are awaiting paperwork.
Amounts approved were Alba, $38,903; Coke/Pleasant Grove, $32,053; Hawkins, $42,513; Holly Lake, $32,833; Land’s End, $29,765; Mineola, $52,529; Ogburn, $32,303; Perryville, $31,119; Quitman $51,663; and Winnsboro $43,853. When paperwork is completed and turned in Hainesville will receive $36,513 and Yantis, $37,593.
Commissioners approved a resolution for a blanket letter of credit for the Railroad Commission of Texas from BTH Bank for purchasing road oil.
Health insurance premiums for Wood County employees were approved. Commissioners acknowledged the completion of continuing education hours for Tax Assessor-Collector Carol Taylor.
Payments were approved for payroll at $369,980, health and dental claims $62,859 and accounts payable of $281,216.
The next commissioners meeting is Jan. 14 at 10 a.m.
