Commissioners OK unmarked SO cars
Wood County Commissioners moved through a short agenda Tuesday morning.
They approved Sheriff Kelly Cole’s request to have three county vehicles be exempt from inscription and have license plates that do not have the word “exempt.” These vehicles are assigned to the chief deputy, the CID captain and three vehicles used by criminal investigators. The vehicle must be used by full-time law enforcement officer authorized to carry firearms, execute warrants, and make arrests. The officer must carry firearms, except when it is not possible to do so because of requirements of undercover work. Personal use must be incident to use for law enforcement purposes; no vacation or recreational use. The employer (Wood County Sheriff’s Department) must be a government agency responsible for prevention or investigation of a crime.
In another matter commissioners approved the revision of lots 105, 106, and 107, section eight, Holly Lake Ranch Subdivison into one lot. Commissioners approved dates for publication and a hearing date for a revision of lots 475 and 476, section eight, at Holly Lake Ranch. The hearing date will be June 29.
In personnel actions, commissioners approved a resignation in Precinct 4 from part-timer Delana Gorthey; Tina Renee Clower was hired full-time by the District Attorney’s Office as a clerk at $18.60 per hour; the resignation of Angela Hinkle who worked part-time at the tax office; and the hiring part-time for Reiny Luman as a deputy clerk in the county clerk’s office.
In other business commissioners approved claims of health and dental, $278,556; payroll, $379,445; accounts payable, $468,274; direct claims, $15,639; and voided checks of $12,261.
The commissioners approved a proclamation supporting May as Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month.
