Community events planned for trick or treaters

Among the community events planned for Halloween on Monday, Oct. 31, the Mineola Chamber of Commerce will host trick or treat in downtown Mineola from 5-8 p.m.

Downtown area streets will be blocked off, and stores, service clubs and others will be set up for trick or treating.

The First Baptist Church will also host its trunk or treat near the church on N. Johnson from 5-8.

Quitman’s annual downtown candy walk will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. with various businesses participating.

The final run of the Halloween train at Iron Horse Square in Mineola will be Saturday, Oct. 29 from 6-9 p.m.

The book walk in the Iron Horse park continues through Oct. 31.
