Community mural project set for week-long effort
The Wood County Unity Mural Project, a program of the Flint and Steel Coalition, gets underway this weekend, with the painting taking place next week, culminating Saturday, June 25.
Muralist Luis Valle of Miami, Fla. will be giving participants a quick course in mural skills Saturday from 6-9 p.m. at the Mineola Community Skate Park.
He will have a meet and greet at Cafe U Sunday from 1-4 p.m.
Painting gets underway at Taqueria Plancarte on S. Pacific with two shifts per day from 9:30-1 and 3-6:30 Monday through Friday followed by the dedication Saturday at 10 a.m.
Flint and Steel continues its summer activities with a skate boarding day Tuesday, June 21 starting at 9 a.m. at the skate park with a free skate, hot dogs at 11 a.m., a competition at 1 p.m., best trick at 3 p.m. and more free skate at 5, with music off and on throughout the day.
