County applies for renewal of organ, tissue transplant policy
Last week, Wood County commissioners approved an application for renewal of the organ and tissue transplant policy through the county’s health insurance provider, Brinson Benefits Inc.
County employees, their spouses and retirees are all eligible persons covered in this policy. According to the application, covered transplants include organs such as the heart, lungs, kidneys, pancreas, liver, intestine and bone marrow transplants.
In another matter, an order of assignment to appoint a presiding judge for 402nd District Court was approved by commissioners. Robin D. Sage, senior judge of the 307th District Court, was chosen to preside over 402nd District Judge Jeff Fletcher’s divorce case. Alfonso Charles, presiding judge of the 10th administrative judicial region, signed the order of assignment on June 18. It was filed in district court of Wood County on Nov. 1.
In other business, commissioners also approved an indigent funeral. Court’s approval was for a direct cremation at Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins.
A public hearing for the revision of lots 49 and 50, section two at Holly Lake Ranch subdivision was set for Dec. 28 at 10 a.m.
Dana Bundick was appointed to the Upper Sabine Valley Solid Waste Management District.
The following agenda items were also approved:
-Road permit #2171 for precinct four for logging;
-Michael Allison resigned from his deputy position at the Wood County Sheriff’s Office effective Nov. 29;
-Ronnie McMillon, Jr. was hired as a deputy at the Wood County Sheriff’s Office effective Dec. 8;
-Lindsey Price changed positions from jailer-sergeant to deputy at the sheriff’s office effective Nov. 24;
- Bradley Cox changed positions from jailer-sergeant to deputy at the sheriff’s office effective Dec. 8;
- Tyson Oaks changed positions from jailer to jailer-sergeant at the sheriff’s office effective Nov. 24;
-Treasurer’s reports were approved for August and September. Signatures for August will be submitted at a later date due to the month’s documents not being in the commissioner’s court packets;
-payroll of $369,603.37
-health and dental claims of $39,864.01
-accounts payable of $270,576.01.
