County EDC fills director position
Christophe Trahan has been named the executive director of the Wood County Economic Development Commission (WCEDC). He will start in mid-January.
He replaces Roger Johnson, who resigned in November after six months on the job.
Trahan most recently was the executive director of the economic development corp. in Linden. He graduated from East Texas Baptist University with a 3.99 GPA, majoring in business administration with a minor in economics and finance and was hired by Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Company of Omaha, Neb. before returning to Linden.
Wood County Judge Lucy Hebron announced the appointment last Thursday.
Trahan comes highly recommended by Winnsboro City Administrator and WCEDC board member Craig Lindholm and his wife, Cass County Judge Becky Wilbanks, said Hebron.
Trahan worked at Linden EDC with Gus Gustafson, former Main Street manager in Winnsboro.
Judge Wilbanks said, “Mr. Trahan is an outstanding young man with vision, intelligence and a great heart for community. He is experienced in economic development, understands that community and economic development are intertwined and has demonstrated exceptional leadership capability.”
Hebron said, “His key role will be to advance the mission of the WCEDC by improving Wood County’s quality of life by improving economic development throughout the region.”
