County judge orders closure of beaches at county lakes
County Judge Lucy Hebron has issued an order, effective at midnight tonight (Thursday, April 16), closing public access to beaches at the county-owned lakes in unincorporated areas of Wood County.
The closure is effective for one week, subject to extension.
County commissioners met concerning the matter on April 7 behind closed doors under the open meetings exception of discussing pending or contemplated litigation with counsel. No action was taken at that time.
Commissioners are scheduled to meet again Tuesday, April 21 at 10 a.m.
