County names committee to seek Fouke funding

Fouke Water Supply is looking for a grant administrator to help it seek Community Development funding.

Wood County Commissioneres named a committee to solicit and review proposals for professional services for the 2019-20 TxDBG Community Development application. Director Ed Baker and General Manager Kristi Hirsch were appointed to the committee. Wood County Commissioner Mike Simmons was chosen and approved as the elected official committee member.

In other business:

• Miste Davis was approved as the Alba representative for the Wood County Industrial Commission Board of Directors.

• Commissioners set a public hearing for Sept. 20 at 10 a.m to discuss the revision of lots 293, 294 and 295, section eight, of Holly Lake Ranch subdivision.

• Maria Flores resigned from the Wood County Sheriff’s Office and Jesus Sandoval was hired.

• The court approved a payroll of $326,228.39. Health and dental claims were $78,182.13 and accounts payable was $538,428.12.

• Commissioners approved the treasurer’s reports for June, pledges and releases, constable reports. A $15,000 line item transfer for the RV park during the 2018 fiscal year was approved by the court.

• Commissioners approved a resolution authorizing the county grant with Texas Department of Agriculture for Meals on Wheels 2019 fiscal year. A total of $4,149.75 was given to the organization from the county to be used between Oct. 1, 2018 to Sept. 30, 2019.
