The latest statistics from the Northeast Texas Public Health District on Monday show Wood County has had 107 total cases of COVID-19. That is an increase of nine since the last report on Friday and 25 in a week.

There have been 62 patients recovered, leaving forty active cases. There have been no additional deaths, which remain at five.

The state reports that 1,004 residents have been tested for the virus for a positivity rate of just over 10 percent.

One of the new cases is travel-related. All other cases have been community spread since the first case in late March, which was also travel-related.

Of the new cases, one was under age 20, two in the 21-40 range, two for the 41-59 range and four from 60-79.

Three of the newest cases are from the Mineola ZIP code and two from Hawkins with one each for Winsboro, Quitman, Alba and Yantis.
